After more than ten years of intense dedication treating clients and building our hypnotherapy practice, I have retired from clinical practice and am channeling my time and energy in new directions.

Sadly, most schools of hypnotherapy will accept anyone who can pay the price of tuition, then without discrimination they turn every student loose with “certification” that implies they are ready to competently use hypnosis to treat clients.

The reason so many of these practitioners fall short (often leaving dissatisfied clients believing hypnotherapy is a waste of time and money) is that they are ill-equipped to perform professionally in the real world.  The classroom has not and does not provide adequate preparation for career stability.

For this reason, my goal as Director of a mentoring program for hypnotherapists called Acumen Certification Training (ACT)tm is to raise the bar on the practice of clinical hypnosis.

I now work one-on-one with a select few,  tailoring lessons to the needs of each individual and certifying only those who meet the highest standards of competence, personal integrity, ethics and professionalism.  This has proven highly rewarding for those who participate, and for myself as well.  Having grown our own business to a level that comfortably meets our needs, I can now help others do the same as they guide their own clients through self hypnosis sessions.

There are circumstances under which I still conduct an occasional hypnosis session in the office.  Although I am heavily involved in research, writing, and mentoring, I also remain consultant to everyone on the Evergreen staff, I continue to provide supportive services, I teach our popular "Hypnosis Helps" class at several colleges, and when you phone Evergreen it’s highly likely I’ll be the one who answers. If you hear the name “Ginny,” that’s me!

With more than thirty-five years experience as a certified Yoga instructor, other commitments mean that I must limit my teaching to two weekly classes -- one for the Dept. of Sports Sciences at UOP, and one at Contours Express, where I exercise a few blocks from my home.

I am President of the Central Valley Chapter of the National Guild of Hypnotists; and in my “spare time” (pause for laughter) I continue to enjoy my marriage (31 years now, but who's counting?), home, garden, pool, grown children, grandchildren, great granddaughter, and horse… almost always in that order...

I’d like to personally thank you for your interest in Evergreen Professional Hypnotherapy and if you choose to contact me, I’ll be happy to answer any questions you direct my way.
