EVERGREEN Professional HypnotherapyStockton’s Small Business of the Year 2003-2004 6820 Pacific Ave., Ste. 2-B Stockton, CA 95207 (209)472-0722 Welcome to
Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” is running through my mind, in friendly competition with the great music we enjoyed recently at the Gallo Theater in Modesto, where The New Christy Minstrels outdid themselves -- as usual. Barry Maguire arrived in time to hit the stage for the second half, Jennifer Lind always captures the cuteness award and, for me (Ginny) most importantly, Dave Deutschendorf performed. His resemblance to his nephew, John Denver, was easy to spot. Even easier was listening to his deep, deep, deep voice that complemented the group when they sang together, and sent chills up and down my spine when he sang solo. Meeting him after the show was a thrill. I may have held his hand a little too long, but hey, call me an adoring fan. So how did Willie get into this mix? Well, to promote our book Charming Children the E-Team (Evergreen) has been on the road without me while my sprained knee and torn ligament (climbing injury in Alaska) continue to heal. I’m now past the knee brace and cane stage, so I’m giving it a go again at our book signing next week in Sacramento. Everyone attending our presentation will receive a FREE 6-Minute Quick Fix stress reduction CD, and FREE refreshments will be tasty. Hope some of you can join us. Books will be available but, aside from sales, we’ve heard consistently that people enjoy learning a little about how the conscious and subconscious minds work, and how to use easy, effective communication techniques to shape the lives of children -- our most valuable natural asset! (Yes! What we teach can be used with grown ups, too!)
As for children, good old Art Linkletter was right. Kids do say the darnedest things . My friend Paula has grandchildren who arrive at her preschool at a very early hour, which has been dark recently due to the change in seasons. One morning her grandson Kyle walked in, obviously distraught. He said to her, “Grandma, we have a big problem! The sun is missing!”I’d be re-miss if I didn’t take this opportunity to publicly thank Lee Neves in the Stockton Barnes & Noble store for helping arrange an E-Team appearance for us in Honolulu next month. I have colorful visions of sunbathing tourists with sunglasses in place, holding pina coladas in one hand and their copy of Charming Children in the other. There’s nothing wrong with a vivid imagination! (I also imagine we’ll find time for some fun. Frank, my SCUBA dude, plans to become boat certified in the warm waters of Hawaii. I will do my best to become certified in relaxation!)
