CLUTTER, CLUTTER EVERYWAY AND IT’S DIFFICULT TO THINK

It’s theorized that the environment we create for ourselves reflects what is going on inside us. If you’re looking around at a messy desk, a messy room, a messy closet, drawers or cabinets, a messy purse and so on -- the odds are that your thoughts and feelings are jumbled as well.

Which means that in terms of your behavior, you may not be as focused (or effective) as you’d like. Your energy is “scattered.“ (Know that feeling of Going in too many directions at once? So much to do I don‘t know where to begin?) By the way, when all else is “in order” look further -- how about your car? How about the trunk of your car? It’s hard to hide from the subconscious mind.

One way to “sort things out” internally is to tidy up your outer world. “A place for everything and everything in its place” applies to our frame of mind as well as to our surroundings. When your subconscious mind notices you becoming neater, its attitude is, “Oh! This is an orderly person. I’ll straighten up in here as well.”

When that happens, your behavior changes accordingly. You get more done in less time, with less stress and with better results. Thing is, you don’t have to be perfectly neat (as in obsessive compulsive), you just need to be consistently neatening things up as a part of your normal activity.
