Welcome to EVERGREEN OUTREACH!

Business, Friends & Other Fun Stuff

Holy moly, where did January go? It’s already one month down and only 11 more on the horizon until we ring in another new year.  So far 2012 has been an interesting experience for us at Evergreen. Along with seeing clients, Frank has been involved in community activities, I’ve been busy with teaching and public speaking, and James and his wife have… ready for this?  Traveled to India!

Closer to home, if you or someone you know is in business for yourself (himself/herself), I’d like to mention a new group that has formed, which Frank and I (Ginny) have visited. We’re very impressed with the caliber of people attending, and the emphasis they place on improving the quality of their job or profession.  Currently there is a:   Commercial Realtor, Residential Realtor, Financial Advisor, CPA, General/Roofing Contractor, Insurance Agent, and Home Mortgage Consultant participating.

All other fields are open to interested parties who are early risers!  The group meets on Wednesday mornings from 7:00-8:30 a.m.!  There is no cost to join, which is refreshing in this day and age, and the person to contact for more information if you’d like to meet and mix with other friendly and focused business people is Mark Young at 209-955-5518 or myoung@GoGrupe.com.

Q. When is a mountain climber considered a mountain climber? When he reaches the top of the mountain? No. It is as soon as he sets foot on the mountain with the equipment, energy, ability, and intention to reach the top.  Serious climbing is rarely done solo, but with others of like minds.  As to business, successful people associate with successful people. When is a person a success?  When they have achieved their every goal? No. It is while they are in serious pursuit of their goals. And most who have made it to the top have publicly declared they didn’t get there alone. Therein lies the power of group participation.

Keeping in mind that a friend isn’t always someone you share popcorn with at the movies, sometimes it’s someone with whom you share ideas and encouragement, I’ll take the liberty to quote Cicero:

To give and receive advice – the former with freedom and yet without bitterness –the latter with patience and without irritation – is peculiarly appropriate to genuine friendship.

On that same topic, we’re excited to be going back to the California Family Childcare Conference in April, this year in Sacramento.  We have met the friendliest people ever as we’ve presented at County, State and National levels. It totally tickles me to know that so many young people are in such good hands, when parents have to be at work.  The childcare scene has evolved over the years to become a collection of true professionals who genuinely care about kids. And it is personally gratifying to know that many of care providers go home from these conferences with new information that comes from our book, Charming Children – How the Relaxation Game Helps Good Parents Raise Great Kids.

I have inside information that last year our presentation in Milpitas received the highest evaluations of all classes that were offered; and the frosting on the cake is that it was so much fun for us! So our ducks are in a row and we are rarin’ to go again this year, and make more friends.

In the meantime we continue to take great satisfaction in helping our clients meet their own goals… to stop smoking, lose weight, reduce stress, eliminate a fear of heights or needles or test taking, etc.  On a personal note my oldest granddaughter asked me recently to make a recording of subliminal suggestions to help her daughter (my great granddaughter) stop grinding her teeth at night.  A week later I received a text saying, “Gramma, you are AMAZING!” Ya gotta love it!

Another granddaughter has started classes at Delta College. She has never been fond of school, so she asked me to make a CD for her as well, with subliminal suggestions to help her feel motivated to study, and to find the experience more enjoyable. I recently received a text from her saying she loves her classes, can’t wait to get to her homework, is getting great grades, and wonders why it took her so long to figure out how important an education is!

So Life is good here at Evergreen, and we hope 2012 got off to an okay if not awesome start for you, as well.  Let us know if there is any way we can be of help… That’s what we’re here for!
