At Evergreen, Frank and I (Ginny) are forming a business association with Dr. Eunice Green, owner of Green’s Nutrition on Stockton’s Miracle Mile. She has earned her doctorate degree in Nutritional Health and, together, we will soon be offering a class that will cover the HCG diet.   HCG is a hormone that was originally delivered by injection (derived from the urine of pregnant mares), but is now available in synthetic form as drops placed daily beneath the tongue. It resets the metabolism and, accompanied by restricted caloric intake, promotes fast and safe weight loss, followed by a regimen for maintenance.

In this class Dr. Green will explain the technical aspects of using HCG, I will be discussing the psychological components found in weight issues, and Frank and I will be offering group hypnosis for confidence, commitment, and compliance with the HCG guidelines, which allow little wiggle room.

Paula Baca is the current President of the San Joaquin County Family Childcare Association, and incoming president of the state organization. She was our first Charming Children advocate and has been instrumental in our national distribution of the book. (An advocate is an individual or group that purchases a minimum of ten books at a special price, to resell for profit or to pass along to others with the same 50% savings.)　 Paula is an impressive and inspiring woman who has influenced the profession of childcare in a remarkable and beneficial way. On the Charming Children website we will install a button with the group’s name on it, then (c) the group will automatically be notified of each sale, and (d) with every sale during those 14 days we will donate 100% of profit to the group.　 We’ll provide promotional materials, cover shipping costs, and do the mailing of the books. Many of you may not realize that our Evergreen staff includes our dog, Artax, who sometimes attends informal meetings in our office. He loves the attention he gets, and what he gives back is a cheerful, calming effect on the atmosphere in the room. Our cat, Mismatch, would be insulted if we asked or expected the same from her.

For obvious reasons we can’t bring my horse, Brandi, to our business location but she is, in fact, “on staff.”　 We offer horse therapy based on the philosophy, There’s something about the outside of a horse that’s good for the inside of a person. Our fees (found on our website) are based on options of simply visiting her with me for the sights, sounds, and smells of the horse ranch, or visiting the ranch plus currying & brushing her, or actually riding her in the arena, with basic instructions and supervision.　

During the month of September I’m offering this equine opportunity for free, limited to the first 5 people who respond. If you want to bring a kid along to "horse around," that’s fine too. Brandi loves kids. Oh yeah, and carrots!
